1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Scholars Forge platform (the Service), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Scholars Forge provides digital tools to help homeschooling parents plan, adapt, and document learning activities.

The Service allows parents to create learner profiles, build and adjust learning plans, track progress, upload evidence, and generate reports. Learners (children) are represented as data records only; no direct login credentials are required.

3. Educational and Legal Disclaimer

Scholars Forge provides general tools and suggestions to help homeschooling parents organize and document learning. We are not legal experts and do not provide legal advice.

Any compliance or regulatory guidance is provided for informational purposes only. It is your responsibility to review and comply with the homeschooling laws in your jurisdiction.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. Parents or guardians are solely responsible for all data entered about minors.

5. Account Responsibilities

You agree to maintain accurate information and protect your login credentials. Scholars Forge is not liable for damages arising from failure to comply with these obligations.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, and software associated with Scholars Forge are the property of Scholars Forge, LLC. Use is limited to personal, non-commercial homeschooling purposes.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of educational data, uploads, and attachments created within the Service. By uploading files, you grant Scholars Forge a limited license to store and display that content solely for your use of the Service.

8. Data Storage and Availability

Data is stored in secure cloud environments with encryption in transit and at rest. Scholars Forge strives for 99% monthly uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.

9. AI-Assisted Features

AI features, including ChatGPT-based suggestions, are advisory and optional. Parents must approve all recommendations.

10. Prohibited Activities

Users may not use the Service for illegal purposes, attempt unauthorized access, or upload harmful code. Violations may result in suspension or termination.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. Scholars Forge may suspend access for violations or maintenance without notice.

12. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is." Scholars Forge, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

13. Data Retention

Inactive accounts and associated data may be retained for up to 24 months before permanent deletion, unless required by law to be kept longer.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana. Disputes will be resolved in Judith Basin County, Montana.

15. Modifications and Notifications

We may update these Terms periodically. Major changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
